One Fine day... a Discussion..
Recently I had a rather vigorous discussion with a 'friend' (or should i refer to him in a different manner now ???) about some things that are happening in the world…..This has made me realize that i need to write this down... and get back to blogging... cause that way i don't lose my thoughts.
We came back home to our place after a birthday party and all of a sudden this `Friend’ asked us (Quote )What we thought about the word ‘ISLAMISTS’?; since he wanted to understand what NON-MUSLIMS thought about the term and it’s subsequent effect on people.(Unquote)
We had a lengthy discussion that did nothing for either of us!!!! I was hung over and was sleepy for 3 days afterward….. Anyways…. This self styled ‘Intellectual’ was typically of a single frame of mind.
I don’t know about the term ‘Islamists‘ nor care to have an opinion about it. Because it’s useless… but here is what I do realize and feel….. I have long debated with myself as to what makes a fanatic… these are opinions formed after reading about things that happen around the world…..
I dunno how others feel about it but this is just my opinion.
I believe this is what goes in making a fanatic…..
The Fanatic in his deep desire for goodness is in constant fear of evil. He begins to see evil all around. In what we think of as harmless decadence, the fanatic sees the insidious encroachment of evil.
He begins to worry about everybody who is not pursuing good with the same zeal as himself. After a while he tires of the pathetic weakness of others and his perception shifts. He no longer sees them as the misguided fools but rather as ministers of the devil, which is when he starts to hate them. From that moment he becomes a dangerous person, because he is then someone receptive to extreme ideas.
The fanatic reaches a point where he begins to look down on his fellow human beings and not only found them lacking but thought them subhuman in someway.
It is a form of intense religious arrogance.
Once he reaches the point where you don’t regard all humans as equals, then killing them becomes less of a problem.
Well it's very difficult to make a fanatic see reason.
That's why they are called FANATICS !!!!!
